A Press Conference was held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 12:00 noon at The Will County Courthouse Public Areas Plaza to publically protest and challenge the manipulation of Latino/Hispanic voter participation in Will County. Keynote speakers were Hector Conception
who is running for Congress 4th District of Chicago and Jerry Ramirez who is running for Will County District 9.
The discussion and press conference was in response to the misleading Candidate’s Forum headed by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugee Rights that was recently held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Joliet, Will County, IL, October 31, 2012: “We The Community” and Latino Community Republican Candidates: Hector Concepcion, Candidate US Congressman 4th District of Illinois, Jerry G. Ramirez, Will County Board, District #9, Ryan Martin Alm, Candidate State Representative, District #86 and Magdaleno Barragan, Executive Director, “We Are The Community” are calling on all Latino/Hispanic voters to rally for equal access to both political parties so they can make educated, well-informed voter decisions and not be misinformed by certain factions trying to unduly influence the election on November 6th, 2012.
We believe in fairness and truth, and I personally share many basic beliefs with my friend and Republican colleague, Hector Conception in this very important election. So, please get out and vote and let us help the Latino/Hispanic Americans and all other Americans in our districts attain the American dream through equality, fairness and by uniting and working together for the greater good. God bless all of you and God bless America.
Republican Candidate for Will County District 9
