Homer Junior High School chorus students take the stage at
Carnegie Hall
Perform with artists from around the world
Seventeen Homer Junior High School students are back from New York
where they performed at the world renowned Carnegie Hall.
The chorus students were selected to join this year’s Middle School Honors
Performance Series after being nominated by their teacher, choral director
Diane Pullara, and completing an individual audition and selection process.
They traveled to New York on June 22 where they joined student musicians
from around the world for a single group performance.IMG_2202.JPG
“It was a fun-filled musical experience,” said Pullara, who accompanied
students to rehearsals each day and helped them prepare for their Carnegie
Hall debut on June 25.
Between rehearsals, students took in some of the sites of New York,
including Times Square and Central Park. They also attended the Broadway
musical
Anastasia
.
Countryside Bank and the Future Ready Student Foundation helped
students pay for the trip and learning experience.
