Chicago – January 17, 2019 – Total Living Network (TLN) announced that it is the exclusive video media partner of Faith (&) Politics Forum 2019.  TLN will broadcast the forum LIVE to its television audience as well as on its streaming/internet outlets.

The Faith (&) Politics Forum 2019 will take place on January 21st at 5:00pm CT at Progressive Baptist Church, 3658 S. Wentworth Avenue in Chicago.  The forum will be moderated by Pastor James Meeks of Salem Baptist Church (former member of the Illinois Senate representing the 15th district from 2003 to 2013) and Pastor Sandra Maria Van Opstal of Grace and Peace Community Church. 

Confirmed participating mayoral candidates are below.  Other mayoral candidates may be added later.

  • Amara Enyia, community activist, organizer, attorney and policy consultant, Director of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, candidate for mayor in 2011
  • Lori Lightfoot, former president of the Chicago Police Board and former US Attorney
  • Garry McCarthy, former Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department
  • Toni Preckwinkle, President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners and Chair of the Cook County Democratic Party
  • Willie Wilson, businessman, candidate for mayor in 2015 and candidate for U.S. President in 2016

The goal of the Faith (&) Politics Forum is to have meaningful dialogue about civic engagement and politics from a biblical perspective.  This initial conversation will engage several mayoral hopefuls in a wide-ranging discussion about how they plan to lead the city government in the many challenges facing Chicago, how they will use their mayoral platform and how they will partner with churches and other faith-based organizations in the city.
