Editor Note; Remember criminals do not obey the law or even care what the law is, so all regulations are against the rights of good citizens. Only good citizens obey the law but have the government taking away their right to protect themselves from the criminals who would do harm. Democrat Leadership wants to hurt good citizens. |

A sharp memory and respect for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms go hand in hand. The Second Amendment, after all, was written by those who had only recently fought their way to independence from a tyrannical monarchy that had ceased to recognize American colonists’ basic human and legal rights. Memories of King George III’s abuses of power, and particularly the Redcoats’ attempts to disarm the patriots, were fresh in the drafters’ minds. The idea that a once benign government could descend into despotism was more than just political theory to them; it was their lived experience. |

As much as the Brady Campaign, Bloomberg’s Everytown, and the Obama administration contend that submitting oneself to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is a fast and simple process that does not significantly burden lawful firearms transferees, the fact is that for many of Americans that simply isn’t true. Each year thousands of Americans are wrongfully denied their Second Amendment rights when NICS incorrectly determines that they are prohibited from firearm ownership. Compounding this grave injustice, this week the FBI made public that they have stopped processing NICS denial appeals. |

On Wednesday, residents of the National Capital area were treated to the unseemly spectacle of the country’s seat of government being hobbled by 7/10 of an inch of snow. Those same locals are now bracing themselves for an incoming blizzard projected to dump at least 18 inches of snow, and perhaps considerably more, on Washington, D.C. To some degree, the fecklessness and panic of D.C.’s officials in the face of entirely predictable winter weather illustrates the dynamic of the Obama Administration’s attempt to impose national gun control on an unwilling American public. Never one to understand those who “cling to guns,” Obama has appeared dumbfounded by the continued resistance to his designs for Australian or British-style gun control in America. Faced with disappointment, he has reacted with petulance and vindictiveness, insisting that he will act to curb gun ownership without Congress. |

Wayne LaPierre says that President Obama has chosen to attack what he misunderstands most about America—the Second Amendment, gun owners and the NRA. Obama even announced a federal gun force that will be four times the size of the Special Forces units he deployed against ISIS terrorists. LaPierre concludes by challenging the president to a one-on-one, one-hour fair debate. |
