For the third consecutive year, Homer School District 33C is offering free Google, Microsoft classes to district residents. Classes begin Sept. 29.

Homer 33C offering free Google, Microsoft classes to district residents
Back by popular demand are Homer School District 33C’s FREE classes for parents and community members.
If you are a resident of Homer 33C, you are eligible to sign up and attend any of the hour-long classes. Classes begin Sept. 29 and will be led by the district’s talented Technology Division Facilitator, James Carpenter.
“We are fortunate to be part of a community that values education and appreciate all that our parents and community members do for our schools,” said Superintendent Kara Coglianese.
“We’re here to serve the community — not just students,” she added. “After all, we’re all lifelong learners. That’s something we, as educators, model for our students. And what a better way to show we are committed to all lifelong learners than offering a series of Google and Microsoft classes to our community of lifelong learners.”
At the Parent/Community Classes, participants will have an opportunity to learn everything from how to use Google Drive for storage and sharing to using Microsoft Excel to make home budgets and ledgers.
Each class will be held at Hadley Middle School, 15731 Bell Road, Homer Glen.
Classes include:
- Google Docs & Drive, 6-7 p.m. Sept. 29
- Gmail & Calendar, 6-7 p.m. Oct. 6
- The Power of the Chrome Browser, 6-7 p.m. Oct. 13
- Google Search, Maps, Street View & Cardboard, 6-7 p.m. Oct. 20
- Facebook How to & Security, 6-7 p.m. Oct. 27
- Follow the World with Twitter, 6-7 p.m. Nov. 3

Class sizes are limited, so don’t delay. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Depending on which class you attend, Chromebooks will be made available for use.
