Schilling School raises more than $20,000 for American Heart Association
Celebrate with all-school assembly

Schilling School students put their heart into it, raising nearly $22,000 for the American Heart Association this past month.
 
Students raised the cash for lifesaving research and educational programs through the school’s annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign.
 
They were challenged to raise $20,000 by Kindergarten Principal Robert Rounsaville and Grades 1-4 Principal Candis Gasa who promised to be “slimed” if they met their goal.

Students delivered with kindergartners raising $10,271.50 and students in grades 1-4 raising $10,692.01.
 
Schilling School teachers and staff contributed an additional $850, bringing the school’s total up to $21,813.51.
 
“I am so proud of you,” Gasa told students as they gathered in the gymnasium for an all-school assembly and celebration on March 2.
 
Not only did you raise money for lifesaving research, she added, but learned about the heart and how to take care of your bodies.
 
This is the 11th year Schilling School has participated in Jump Rope for Heart. To date, it has raised $167,953.26 for the American Heart Association.
