Hadley sixth-graders take behind-the-scenes look at Lyric Opera House
Tour six floors of costumes, wigs and sets
Hadley Middle School sixth-graders recently enjoyed a unique backstage tour of the Lyric Opera House.
Accompanied by STEAM Ahead with Explorers Program Coordinator Karen Norville, students toured six floors of costumes, wigs, makeup and sets.
“They were amazed by the many details and variety of talented people that make all the magic on the stage happen,” said Norville, who arranges the after-school workshops and enrichment programs for Homer 33C students.
Later this month, she will take Hadley Middle School fifth-graders to see the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
“The Explorers program is designed to offer students an opportunity to experience interactive, hands-on learning exploration,” explained Norville.
Students visited the Lyric Opera House on March 6 — Casimir Pulaski Day.
