Rumble in the Jungle
Second-graders show they’ve got rhythm at school musical
Butler School second-graders delighted friends and family with a jungle-themed musical on March 29.
Led by music teacher Joel Huffman, students took turns playing xylophones and turbano drums as they sang a variety of catchy tunes, such as Shanghai Chicken, Dancing Hippopotamus and Monkey Around from Seussical the Musical.
“These guys worked really hard,” said Huffman, explaining how students have been working on rhythm in class by echoing his voice with their own voices and musical instruments.
