Local artists share tricks of the trade with Homer 33C children
Special enrichment programs offered at Arts In Action Summer
Workshops
Area children are learning how to paint like Van Gogh, make colorful beads
from duct tape and build model cars from found objects at Homer School
District 33C’s annual Arts in Action Summer Workshops.
Organized by local artist Cyn O’Brien, the workshops are being held this
week in the Community Room at Village Hall, 14240 W. 151st Street.
“Arts in Action has enriched our children’s lives for over 15 years,” said
O’Brien, “giving thousands of students an appreciation and hands-on
experience working with local artists from our surrounding communities.”
Area children had an opportunity to sign up for each workshop in advance.
Seventeen workshops, led by 10 local artists, were offered this year,
including Zentangle Doodling Art, Paper Patchwork and Modeling Clay
Animals.
Students paid $15 to $20 to participate in each class.
