Batinick responds to Governor’s signing of House Bill 40
PLAINFIELD – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) made the following comment after Governor Bruce Rauner signed House Bill 40, legislation that would permit both Medicaid and state employees’ health insurance to pay for elective abortions.
“I’m speechless,” Batinick said.

Batinick responds to Governor’s signing of House Bill 40
PLAINFIELD – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) made the following comment after Governor Bruce Rauner signed House Bill 40, legislation that would permit both Medicaid and state employees’ health insurance to pay for elective abortions.
“I’m speechless,” Batinick said.
Batinick voted against the bill when it was put before the House on April 25. It passed the House 62-55, before passing the Senate 33-22 in May. Rauner signed the bill into law on Thursday.
