Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry: Vote By Mail an easy way to cast ballot

Voters encouraged to request Vote By Mail ballots for April 2 Consolidated Election

JOLIET – Will County Clerk Lauren Staley Ferry reminds voters that one of the easiest ways to cast their ballots in the April 2 Consolidated Election is to utilize the Vote By Mail option.

Residents may request Vote By Mail ballots from the Will County Clerk’s Office from now until March 28. The Clerk’s Office will begin mailing ballots to registered voters who have requested them starting Thursday, Feb. 21. In addition to the ballot, the Vote By Mail packet will contain a stamped return envelope.

“Requesting Vote By Mail ballots is possibly the easiest way to participate in our local election,” Staley Ferry said. “Once voters receive their Vote By Mail packets, they can research candidates and issues at their leisure before filling out their ballots and placing them in the stamped return envelope.”

Requesting a Vote By Mail ballot is as easy as visiting thewillcountyclerk.com, clicking on the “Vote By Mail” quick link and following the instructions.

The Will County Clerk’s website also allows those who participate in Vote By Mail to track their ballot status after mailing it in the return envelope by clicking on the Vote By Mail Ballot Status Lookup” link.

In order to be counted, ballots must be postmarked by midnight on April 2, 2019.
