Rep. Parkhurst Hosting Townhall on Graduated Income Tax Proposal
Kankakee, IL – State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting a forum on the Governor’s proposed measure to amend the Illinois Constitution to remove the flat tax provision. Fellow Representatives Margo McDermed (R-Mokena) and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) will joinRep. Parkhurst. The nonprofit Americans for Prosperity will also be there to present on the recent history of the Illinois income tax.
“Changing the constitution means a lasting impact for years to come. This kind of decision needs serious consideration and I want to hear from the 79th District and discuss what it means for them,” Rep. Parkhurst stated. “When I sent out my constituent survey earlier this year, there was tremendous feedback on this issue. More people want to be informed on the amendment process and the impact this change could have on their families.”
