Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Reveals the Reason why They Stopped Selling AR-15s
If Democrats had their way they wouldn’t just come for your AR-15s; they’d also come for all your weapons.
In the wake of any and every mass shooting, Democrats force their gun control ideologies when we should just be focusing on the mental health epidemic.
And Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO just revealed the reason why they stopped selling AR-15s on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.”
The first thing liberals perpetuate whenever a mass shooting occurs in the United States of America and the first thing they think about is how to repeal the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution instead of offering up thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.
In fact, liberals have gotten into the habit lately of mocking those that offer thoughts and prayers because they think it’s ineffective. They’re essentially mocking Christianity in a blasphemous way.
Dick’s Sporting Goods knew it would affect sales but they went through with the decision anyways partly due to pressure from the public and the other from a moral high ground pedestal.
On February 14th (Valentine’s Day and the same as the Parkland shooting) 2018, Dick’s CEO Edward Stack said on CNN’s “News Day,” “As we sat and talked about it with our management team, it was — to a person — that this is what we need to do. These kids talk about enough is enough. We concluded if these kids are brave enough to organize and do what they’re doing, we should be brave enough to take this stand.”
A little over a year later, Stack did an interview on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, “This rifle has its genesis in war, and people can say that it’s been modified and it hasn’t been. But the origins of this gun, primary reason, was to kill. We thought it would impact our sales, ya know, $150 to $250 million.”
And that’s what happened on March 31st when Bloomberg reported that one of the biggest sports apparel companies in the world lost “about $150 million” due to their liberal stance on gun control.
Stack intimated that the decision to sell AR-15s in the first place is one of his greatest business regrets, saying, “I don’t have too many regrets in my life and my business career, but that is one of them. I wish we had never done it.”
Mass shootings are amplified by the news cycle, especially the 24-hour liberal networks like CNN and MSNBC. That was literally the purpose for the creation of 24-hour news networks – when a tragedy occurs, you can turn on any one of them and watch the coverage for hours on end.
Liberals are fast to boycott companies that allow the sale of AR-15s and Dick’s was put in a bind knowing that the majority of their business isn’t from AR-15 sales, but everything else they sell like sporting gear, shoes and apparel.
