If Men Were Angels

“If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.” James Madison
Miss Constitution has been bringing to your attention the absolute necessity of aninvestigatory press, whose service is to the Sovereign, or the American people. Part of its important role is to “keep honest” those who hold powerful positions in public service. This is one of the controls on government, as Madison mentions. The press exposes corruption that the ordinary citizen cannot see; corruption that is buried or so well hidden through such a convoluted and long-standing trail that only the best and most persistent of investigators can verify important facts We the People need to know.
Now we need journalists with virtue to ask the right questions without fear and keep going no matter what the outcome. We have seen the opposite of the required standards in the relentless investigations of the current President that were announced before he ever took office. “He must be in bed with Russia; he could not have won the election fairly; he is the puppet of a foreign power; he is using the office for personal gain; he has designs to ditch our representative republic and become a dictator, etc.” Well, the investigations, at great cost to our country, resulted in an embarrassing illegal impeachment maneuver and could not verify the accusations as fact. What was found out is that those attacking the President under the guise of “investigation” were actually the corrupt, the paid off, the out for personal gain, and the morally questionable. Inspectors General, the Attorney General, and a Special Counsel substituted for the journalists we have needed and have produced painstakingly fact-based and detailed reports.
We are now, again, in need of honest fact-finding regarding the Wuhan virus that has attacked our nation and many countries in the world. In addition to the how, the where, the why, the when, and the who involved in the pandemic, Miss Constitution wants to know if there is any connection between the relentless Resistance to President Trump and the virus and its impact on our country. Miss Constitution would make three points of contention she hopes will inspire journalists:
- The Resistance has not stopped and knows no shame or new path when found out to be factually wrong. There is nothing the Resistance will not do to prevent the re-election of President Trump. It includes members of the State Department, the Intelligence Services, the Department of Justice and other bureaucracies and elected and formerly elected officials and former civil servants.
- China was well on its way, with helpful colluders in America and elsewhere, including global bureaucrats, to emerging as the “One Sun” for the world and displacing the United States as preeminent. Communism prevailing over a Constitutional Republic. Terrifying and potentially deadly to millions of people.
- The American economy, before the pandemic was unleashed, was historically positive for all demographic groups and China had finally met a President of the United States she could not manipulate into selling out the country in the “hope” China’s leadership would want to be in the league of the civilized. They don’t. They want to be predators. If the President is re-elected the truth of who gained by China’s ascendency and America’s demise will be discovered.
We know now, because cables have been released, that the State Department knew of unsafe practices in the Wuhan Virology lab that American Embassy personnel verified. This was in 2018. Was this told to the Secretary of State or President that year? We know now that American taxpayers through Congress were providing some funds for this so Americans have actually paid through their taxes to kill themselves and their economy. Who sponsored such legislation and why? Who authorized what amounts and why? If the idea was to be a watchdog and we found out sloppy and dangerous procedures going on why was this knowledge not treated as an emergency?
We know from the German Ambassador to the United States, Emily Haber, after Germany sent China medical gear and doctors to help, that China’s lack of truthfulness and candor about the virus reminded her “of the Russian playbook.” The Foreign Minister of Taiwan, Joseph Wu, decries the narrative that China is pushing “that only authoritarian regimes have the capability to deal with the problem” – that is world-wide pandemics. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is already calling for an investigation of our President before we even have a handle on the attack. China’s denial and propaganda campaign is in full swing.
In addition, Miss Constitution thinks we need to know if the two groups most desperate to unseat Donald Trump (China and the Resistance) are in any way connected in this interesting pandemic timing and, if they are connected, how and who is involved. The obvious weakness of the Democratic presumptive nominee inspires Miss Constitution to think that the Democratic Party and the Resistance have devised a pathway to victory that is outside the credentials of the candidate himself. The Democratic Party’s idea of a shadow government is illegal. This is conjecture on Miss Constitution’s part. I hope a brave and curious journalist will emerge to help us sort it out, provide verified facts, and help the Sovereign with important judgments it must make.
If men were angels, power would not corrupt, money would not rule, the flesh would not be weak, and the United States Constitution would not be needed. Miss Constitution thinks it is needed now more than ever, and protection from the power of the wicked through an investigatory press, stands as one of the Constitution’s greatest potential triumphs and gifts to the world. In any case, the keys to the car must be removed from China’s hand or another pandemic is on the way.
