Preface:
In an April 17, 2020 Tweet JB Pritzker posted “I’ve said time and time again, our decisions are hard ones, but they [follow the science — and the science] says our students can’t go back to their normal routine. Therefore, I am suspending in-person learning in schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.”

Prelude:
As with any “crisis” there is always the cry of government conspiracy, with the government and the theorists both being passionate in their thoughts and beliefs. Pro government supporters have repeatedly espoused Thomas Jefferson’s questioning the very existence of God in his letter to Peter Carr when he wrote “…question with boldness even the existence of a god; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear…” yet take great offense when one chooses to question all authority for in the words of David Thoreau “Any fool can make a rule and any fool will mind it.” And I remind the American people of Daniel Webster’s warning “I apprehend no danger to our country from a foreign foe. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing. Make them intelligent, and they will be vigilant; give them the means of detecting the wrong, and they will apply the remedy.”
Interrogative
As Illinois government utilizes the Covid crisis to justify its legislative-acts-in-question, we remind our illustrious ones that it is our own government and not the people who have caused us to question your expertise. Case in point; on May 12, 2020, Dr. Ngozi Ezike dismissed a notion that Illinois was inflating the numbers[i]. Emotionally objective by those in power and their supporters need to remember that it was Ezike’s own words that have prompted the “questioning of Illinois’ science” by a statement she made that had been placed on YouTube “How COVID Deaths are Classified”[ii] that has received 39,617 view to date. In my personal opinion, this is what puts the Illinois Covid death rate into question.
Second, per the Illinois Department of Public Health, as of May 22, there have been a total 105,444 confirmed COVID-19 cases 4,715 deaths in IL, including: 68,949 cases and 3,187 deaths in Cook County. This includes 28,484 cases and 1,337 deaths in suburban Cook County, and 40,465 cases and 1,850 deaths in Chicago.

For the most up-to-date information on Illinois case counts, including cases for suburban Cook County and Chicago, visit the Illinois Department of Public Health website” and here is the problem with that public statement and website. Comparing IDPH data with the data at www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/, then converting Illinois, Cook County, Suburban Cook County and Chicago into countries to compare to the world’s status I’ve made the following observations.
Illinois would rank as the 15th most dangerous Covid country in the world, out of 224 countries, with 105,444 cases surpassing China with 82,971 cases and Africa with 105,354. Cook County reported 68,949 cases surpassing Mexico with 59,567 cases and Pakistan with 50,694. Chicago during the same time period reported 40,465 cases which is more than Ecuador who reported 35,828 cases, Belarus who reported 34,303 and Bangladesh who reported 30,205 cases.
It is also interesting to note that Sweden has reported 32,809 cases which is -72,635 cases less than Illinois with one difference, Sweden never closed down! The Roman philosopher, Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 B.C.-A.D. 65) once observed and wrote, “Toward good men God has the mind of a father, he cherishes for them a manly love, and he says, “Let them be harassed by toil, by suffering, by losses, in order that they may gather true strength.” Bodies grown fat through sloth are weak, and not only labour, but even movement and their very weight cause them to break down. Unimpaired prosperity cannot withstand a single blow; but he who has struggled constantly with his ills becomes hardened through suffering; and yields to no misfortune; nay, even if he falls, he still fights upon his knees.” Leading me to question as to whether this “scientific” stay at home quarantine is working and whether the Illinois corona death count is even accurate. Thus, it is my personal opinion that corona virus stats that are being repeated to us are either dramatically inflated at best or are bogusly inflated at worst. Thus the science of this pandemic, as a matter of fact is that there are no facts as to whether the “stay-at-home orders” are even working. Readers should not accept my numbers ad should look them up for themselves and compare them to what they see on the news so they can draw their own conclusions.
