Everyone from President Trump to his “copresidents” Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, are telling us intricate details about the coronavirus pandemic on a daily — sometimes hourly — basis. But none of them from the president down to our own doctors and nurses are talking about the real American pandemic.
America’s real pandemic is one of malnutrition. Americans are starving and that’s feeding coronavirus fears.
The medical men have learned that those most vulnerable to serious complications from the coronavirus are those who are overweight, have pre-diabetes, diabetes, liver disease, heart diseases and other diseases of inflammation. While the elderly are the most susceptible to serious complications and death from coronavirus, people, regardless of age, with the above underlying symptoms are far more likely to have serious complications from coronavirus than other demographic groups. And the inflammation that results in these diseases is directly caused by America’s poor diet.
America is a nation of fatties, but it’s also a nation of starving people. On the surface that appears an oxymoron. But it’s not if you understand how the body reacts to foodless foods.
The standard American diet is very low in nutrition but very high in calories. This is a fatal combination but a boon to the medical establishment, which profits off our poor health.
Our bodies have a far harder time processing food than we can imagine. Overeating causes impaired metabolism leading to insulin resistance, abdominal obesity and inflammation. How serious is this? The answer is that they are markers for pre-diabetes, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
When food intake is excessive (not necessarily a glutton), particularly foods with a lot of empty calories which we call nonfoods, there is tremendous metabolic stress.
We should be eating less food and more nutrition! This means to leave off the empty nonfood calories because this is what we eat the most of and this is exactly what is destroying our health.
The problem is most people don’t know the difference in nonfood or empty food calories and nutrition. They think that they are the same. Food is food, right? No, this perception is far from being right!
We call this condition full-belly starvation. We eat, we feel full and even satisfied, but we are slowly starving. Most all the illness today is a manifestation or the end result of slow starvation, meaning too many calories and little or not enough nutrition. Our hunger mechanism gets fooled just the same as our thirst mechanism breaks down and we unknowingly dehydrate. So most people are malnourished as well as dehydrated.
When a person eats a fast-food hamburger, most of that hamburger is a nonfood or calories only. The bread is bleached flour and the meat is full of antibiotics and growth hormones. They have sold billions because they taste good to many people.
Look at it this way: We eat about a thimble full of nutrition a day and at least a quart or two of just empty calories. It’s the calories that cause disease and aging.
Believe me — our bodies will adjust to much less food, especially if we drink the required amount of water.
Much of the food we eat comes from the center aisles of the grocery store which primarily makes up our Western grain-based and sugar-laced processed food diet. It’s there that all the processed, non-food foods are found. This processed food is loaded with chemical preservatives, artificial flavors and colors, mounds of sodium and processed sugar in the form of high fructose corn syrup. Oh, they may have given the HFCS a new name — natural corn syrup, isolated fructose, maize syrup, glucose, fructose syrup or some such — but it’s just HFCS and HFCS is devastating to health.
HFCS is an inexpensive filler that is not processed by the body during digestion. As Dr. Royal Lee found as HFCS was just being foisted on Americans in the 1950s, HFCS bypasses the pancreas eventually causing the pancreas to shut down, leading to diabetes and buildup of insulin leading to insulin resistance. It’s highly addictive. Dr. Lee predicted America’s diabetes epidemic way back in the 1950s.
Insulin resistance is the basis of all the chronic diseases of aging because insulin resistance itself is actually the disease of aging. Cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, obesity, diabetes, cancer, all the so-called chronic diseases of aging and auto-immune diseases are only symptoms.
All diseases of aging are caused by insulin sensitivity or insulin resistance.
There is a mountain of research on the extreme danger of these synthetic sugars, and I believe that there is no way to have good health while consuming sugar at the same time. Almost every label in the grocery stores shows some kind of sugar or sweetener content. No warnings are ever given about the highly toxic nature of synthetic sweeteners. Some are more toxic than others, but all can cause multiple diseases from convulsions to diabetes. All accumulate as acid poisons in the human body.
In fact, all junk food is highly addictive. According to a study by PubMed, food with a high glycemic index (foods that raise the glucose levels in our blood) is as addictive as illicit drugs. It alters the parts of the brain responsible for hunger, thirst and the natural rhythms and body cycles.
Unlike when we eat real food, when we eat these processed foods our bodies don’t recognize immediately when we’re full. That leads to overeating. Overeating causes impaired metabolism leading to insulin resistance, abdominal obesity and inflammation.
If we want to truly be healthy we need to consume an alkaline diet. This means eating whole, organic, nutrient-rich foods, mostly from raw, living sources. When you eat more than 50 percent raw foods (vegetables and fruits) you can stop the inflammation triggered by processed, refined or even cooked or baked foods.
Our diet should be 80 percent vegetables (organic) with only 20 percent meats (preferably free-range and not exposed to GMOs or antibiotics). If you need a “diet plan” to help you, and you are a regular reader, you know that I suggest the Nutritarian Diet by Joel Furhman.
This is not a weight-loss diet plan like the diet fads that make the rounds but a change of lifestyle. It will direct you to good eating habits that can help bring your body back from years of abuse from a poor diet. By following the plan you will naturally lose weight over time as your body heals itself.
Avoid anything processed, which creates acidity in the body. Acidity leads to disease, as does vitamin deficiency.
