TLN was honored to receive the NRB 2020 Station of the Year award at that organization’s conference in March. Due to new, unfolding news about the worldwide pandemic at the time, and then subsequent focus on racial tension and protests, TLN chose to delay this announcement until now.

Total Living Network Received 2020 NRB Television Station of the Year Award

Chicago –September 8, 2020  – The Total Living Network (TLN) received the 2020 NRB Television Station of the Year Award at the annual National Religious Broadcasters Media Convention in Nashville, TN.

NRB’s Annual Media Awards program is designed to encourage excellence in production, service to the community, faithfulness and commitment to the mission and personal integrity.

“It’s truly uplifting to receive this award among a field of excellent Christian broadcasters. Our team works hard to bring creative, relevant and high quality content to our viewers and to be recognized by our peers is an honor,” said Debra Fraser, President/CEO of Total Living International.

For more than forty years, TLN has been committed to sharing good news through the media – beginning in Chicago, and since 1998, expanding to the San Francisco Bay market through KTLN and more recently through KQSL and TLN West. Our commitment is to reach as many as possible including an increasing international mission. Through the years TLN original programs have been broadcast to international audiences in the Middle East through Sat-7 and currently, through a partnership with Alfa Omega TV, the Total Living Network’s original programs are translated and transmitted to over 11 million people in Romania, Moldova and Eastern Europe.

We’re passionate about producing original content that meets the specific needs of our unique and local audiences. We’re committed to partnering with local outreaches in a variety of ways that give them a needed voice in the communities we serve,” said Greg Bodgan, COO. In the Bay Area, home to multiple groups of Asian communities, TLN specifically created unique programming in the Hmong & Tongan languages. In Chicago, TLN partnered with a coalition of churches to air a live “Faith and Politics Forum” with candidates, including Lori Lightfoot, the eventual winner for the 2019 Mayoral election. TLN is a participant in Chicagoland United in Prayer to combat violence in Chicago and partners with Moody Bible Institute to record and air the featured speakers from “Founders Week.” TLN also worked with Pacific Garden Mission, the nation’s oldest homeless shelter based in Chicago to create and develop an original television series based on the inspiring testimonies of those whose lives have changed through PGM.

TLN’s award-winning Faith Chicago connects TLN with the community and highlights the issues, events and people who are bringing about positive change to Chicagoland. Another original program, People Like You shines a spotlight on what’s happening in the Bay Area, and Significant Insights features a broad range of national topics on the issues of the day. Exclusive series Exalted Higher gives viewers an in-depth perspective on music and worship through interviews with top recording artists. Documentaries include the 2015 and 2018 Emmy award winners for “Best Documentary”- INK180 and A Call for Freedom

TLN also works with our distribution partner Comcast to feature and highlight charities like Pacific Garden Mission, the Salvation Army and Restoration Ministries annually through Comcast Cares Day. And TLN produces and air “Ministry Minutes” which highlights the good work of organizations in our local areas.

In other news from the 2020 NRB Convention, Debra Fraser was re-elected to the Board of the NRB, serving as an Executive Committee Member at Large and Greg Bogdan continues to serve on the Television Committee.

The Total Living Network launched as WCFC TV38 in 1976 with Mayor Richard J. Daley presiding as guest speaker at the McCormick Place dedication. Over its forty-plus years of operation, TLN and TLNWest have produced original programming serving the Chicagoland and San Francisco faith communities as well as the international market, and  have received numerous NRB and Midwest Emmy awards.
