Miss Constitution Analyzes. . . Day 49 of the Presidential Election Crisis
A Christmas Carol. . . Covid-19 Relief Bill. . . China. . . 2020 Election
Miss Constitution had planned to wait until after the holidays to take up important issues we face as a nation. She finds that intention impossible to honor. The Christmas star that illuminates our winter sky, that many have looked upward to see, beams a message to us all if we can but understand it. It is the same message Charles Dickens was trying to deliver back in 1843. We have a Christmas Past as a nation, a struggle to make actual the values inherent in our Declaration of Independence, namely Liberty of the Person, and the responsibility that Liberty of the person entails. Scrooge had suffered, you will remember, a difficult childhood and a lost love. Yet he still had the Liberty in Christmas Present to change his habitual cruelty and vain attempts to soothe his past pain and start anew. He could say goodbye to Christmas Past and say welcome to Christmas Present. In doing so he would be avoiding the unthinkable pain of Christmas Future. Our nation, like Scrooge has had a complex past, yet Liberty of the Person has been legally achieved for all persons in America. Like the Covid-19 vaccine, a real achievement in governance. Some, however, like to stay with the pain they have been accustomed to feeling or taught. Some feel comfortable, even relish, stewing in what was not what is and what can be. These persons do not want to have the epiphany Scrooge had. These persons like the emotional benefits grievance provides not the great unknown that trust can bring. Christmas Future for these persons is sad indeed, as Dickens describes it. An endless Sahara and no water anywhere.
The star we see in the night sky now, not seen since 1226, has an important message for us: change Christmas Present or face Christmas Future. Have an epiphany now as a nation, as Scrooge did, or languish in powerlessness and death.
In A Christmas Carol, the Ghost of Christmas Present highlighted for Scrooge his selfishness, his lack of generosity, his atrophied humanity. The Ghost of Christmas Present highlights for all who are paying attention, a corrupt Congress, a frightened and lame Judiciary, a malevolent bureaucracy. Republicans and Democrats alike just put before the President an unthinkable piece of Congressional garbage 5,500 pages long. It is not a Covid-19 Relief Bill it is a piece of rancid pork and any legislator who voted for it should be recalled or replaced. Calling uncontrolled spending and payback for election contributions relief is like asserting that Scrooge’s freezing office space and niggardly wages is a humanitarian work environment. Christmas Future portends bankruptcy and the rejection of United States Currency around the world. A windswept grave for America. The generosity our nation should be showing is to those entrepreneurs that Governors and Mayors forced into desperation and despair. These Scrooge officeholders denied Liberty of the Person to these brave souls. They have no Constitutional right to do so.
China continues its unblocked war on America. JP Morgan, UBS, Goldman Sachs intend to open major offices in China. China stocks continue to be offered for sale in America without the audits ordinarily required. China continues to pour hard drugs into America to weaken our people. They unapologetically unleashed the virus that has only highlighted the incompetent and the downright sadistic in some of our local leadership. They are quickly weaponizing space, pillaging fishing waters of sovereign nations, and preparing for an all-out assault on the United States militarily. The epiphany we need is that each of us invest in growth elsewhere. Each American has a duty and a social responsibility not to gain at our country’s expense. That includes corporations. You will not be spared Christmas Future. Your money will not help in finding water on the Sahara you will face.
There cannot be a recovery from the fraudulent Presidential election America just held if former Vice-President Biden takes office. It simply cannot stand. In addition, a President who has been compromised by the Chinese through his family or directly may not be President of the United States. A fair and rightful solution will have to be found.
As all of us look at the dismal Ghost of Christmas Present, and try and avert our eyes, think of the bravery it took our friend Scrooge to say, “I cannot overlook this anymore. I must change.” That change will come through the time-honored American citizen. It will come when the Christmas epiphany sweeps over old and young alike who say, “No More.” It will come when common sense prevails over the utterly insane and an order goes out from the People themselves that they will stand for this corruption no more. May the message of the Christmas star enter your heart and may it banish the Ghost of Christmas Future for you and for our beloved nation.
