Shootings at graduation parties… shootings in a quiet Denver suburb… a 2-year-old shot on an interstate in Detroit… a 10-year-old boy in New York City who was gunned down at his aunt’s home…

Gone are the days when people are raised to hunt and see firsthand the effects of what a firearm is capable of. Instead of watching the sometimes slow and painful death of an animal downed by a shot that was not placed just so, society has given way to young minds racking up mass computer-generated casualties onscreen complete with bloody, cartoonish splatters and bodies that disappear rather than become cold and rot.

The demographic of most of these recent shootings makes this evident.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) recently published model “red flag” legislation that authorizes court orders prohibiting gun possession by people deemed a threat to themselves or others. But this is just a way to get around due process.

After all, Biden couldn’t get his anti-gun legislation passed in Congress, so he has to accomplish his gun-grabbing goals via edict and cajoling. Thus his new “zero tolerance policy” for “rogue” gun dealers (and you can be sure that any gun dealer will eventually be considered rogue if Biden gets his way), plus the prescription that cities and states use their portions of $350 billion in direct aid from Biden’s COVID-19 rescue plan on “public safety efforts” — which often means gun buybacks and stealth confiscation via seizure.

Why more rules?

I’ve written numerous times in recent years about the decline of civility in our society and the rise of in-your-face confrontationalism. The decline of respect for others and the permissiveness of society that not only doesn’t condemn antisocial behavior but often celebrates it makes it seem more acceptable to disturbed minds to commit hateful acts.

Robert Hare, Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, is quoted in the book The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success.  “I think in general, yes, society is becoming more psychopathic. I mean, there’s stuff going on nowadays that we wouldn’t have seen twenty, even ten, years ago.

“Kids are becoming anesthetized to normal sexual behavior by early exposure to pornography on the internet. Rent-a-friend sites are getting more popular on the Web, because folks are either too busy or too techy to make real ones. And I read a report the other day that linked a significant rise in the number of all-female gangs to the increasingly violent nature of modern video game culture. In fact, I think if you’re looking for evidence that society is becoming more psychopathic, the recent hike in female criminality is particularly revealing.”

Frederic Lemieux, Professor of the Practice and Faculty Director of the MPS in Applied Intelligence at Georgetown University, looked at the mindset of active shooters to identify common patterns in behavior. “The majority of active shooters are linked to mental health issues, bullying and disgruntled employees. Active shooters may be motivated by a variety of personal or political motivations, usually not aimed at weakening government legitimacy. Frequent motivations are revenge or a quest for power,” Lemieux wrote.

One investigation shows the connection between those who commit mass murder, including ISIS fighters and so-called “mass shooters,” is anti-depressant drugs and other prescription and narcotic drugs, not the availability of guns.

“Until governments such as that of the United States, cracks down on big pharmaceutical companies, black-market drug dealers and the deep state’s involvement in narcotics trafficking, things will only get worse. It is no coincidence that the number of mass shootings as well as cruel and usual homicides have increased in-line with the use of psychotropic drugs,” writes Adam Garrie for conservative website The Duran.

Even one of the firebrand champions of the Far Left, socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, treads lightly on gun control issues, having said it’s an issue best left to the states. After the Sandy Hook calamity, Sanders said, “If you passed the strongest gun control legislation tomorrow, I don’t think it will have a profound effect on the tragedies we have seen.”

We don’t need new misguided gun laws that harken back to the days of racial gun bans; we need an emphasis on responsibility and gun respect. But the Left is unwilling to admit that a combination of gun education, responsibility and respect is the only real answer to lessening both shootings and firearm accidents.

Arm yourself

However, you and I cannot be lulled into complacence by thinking we have nothing to worry about with gun ownership. Disarmament first comes by words and psychological warfare. It is still true that Leftist elitists will not rest until they have stripped all chance of armed resistance to their power agenda is complete. It’s part of their grand strategy to win total dominance of American society.

You still have the right to bear arms — still relatively uninfringed in most states. But keep a sharp eye out for any news of anti-gun measures in your town or state that would penalize lawful gun owners and do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the unfit.

But also gun confiscation is serious business. It has to do with the basic survival of human liberty. Americans should protect their private guns and keep their guns private. This is the first law of survival against the organized crime of the state.

Get your defense gun before it’s too late. Incidentally, short handguns are meaningless to most people who have had little or no experience with them. If you buy and own a handgun you must train, train and train some more.

Long guns like a 12-gauge shotgun with No. 4 buckshot in the home discourage attacks upon person and property with very little instruction and are good for seniors whose eyesight is poor and whose hands are less steady.

In case you have not seen it, we provide here the published before you can take possession of a gun you wish to purchase. If you need a conceal-carry license, go here for one that works in multiple states. Home- and self-defense is a human right, not a privilege.

Many Police Departments offer self-defense courses to the public and can be very helpful to both men and women.  These courses may be free or if not at a minimal cost to the public.  Once again, use that old noggin.  Physical exercise keeps our bodies in good shape and mental exercises keep our minds sharp.
