1 September 2015 – The United Nations General Assembly today approved a resolution sending the draft ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’ to Member States for adoption later this month, bringing the international community “to the cusp of decisions that can help realize the… dream of a world of peace and dignity for all,” according to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
“Today is the start of a new era. We have travelled a long way together to reach this turning point,” declared Mr. Ban, recounting the path the international community has taken over the 15 years since the adoption of the landmark Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) towards crafting a set of new, post-2015 sustainability goals that will aim to ensure the long-term well-being of our planet and its people.
With world leaders expected to adopt the text at a 25-27 September summit in New York, the UN chief said Agenda 2030 aims high, seeking to put people at the centre of development; foster human well-being, prosperity, peace and justice on a healthy planet and pursue respect for the human rights of all people and gender equality.
“It speaks to all people in all countries, and calls for action from everyone everywhere. It aims to inspire and create genuine partnerships among all countries and actors,” said Mr. Ban, underscoring that the Agenda prioritizes the vulnerable and marginalized, vowing to leave no one behind, marking a paradigm shift that would complete the unfinished business of the MDGs and lift the level of ambition and tackle emerging issues and challenges.
The Agenda and its adoption later this month mark the culmination of a series of watershed events in 2015, including Third International Conference on Financing for Development, in Addis Ababa in July, and efforts to forge a new path forward on climate change the 21st meeting of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), widely referred to as COP-21 in Paris in December.
“Together, they are foundational steps to begin implementing the 2030 Agenda,” the Secretary-General explained, adding that those meetings will be followed by next year by further crucial steps, including the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul in May, the Habitat III, Conference in Quito in October and the special session of the UN General Assembly on the World Drug Problem.
“At this month’s Summit, we expect Heads of State and Government to not only endorse the new Agenda but to affirm their strong political commitment to its timely implementation. I am delighted that more than 150 world leaders as well as His Holiness Pope Francis will join us to start this new era for sustainable development, said the UN chief, adding: “We must all now act with utmost ambition – and mobilize maximum political will.”
In his remarks, General Assembly president Sam Kutesa said the spirit with which the outcome document was formulated and agreed by consensus is a triumph for multilateralism. “We have proven that the global community can work together to address pressing issues facing humanity, while making the necessary commitments for the benefit of all.”
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the main component of the new development framework, are comprehensive and address the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in an integrated way, he said, and while the new Goals will be universally applicable, there is also recognition of national circumstances, different levels of development and the needs of countries in special situations, particularly the least developed countries (LDCs), landlocked developing countries, small Island developing States (SIDS) and Africa.
“As I have underscored before, the task ahead will be to ensure successful implementation of the new development agenda, once adopted. In this context, integrating it into our respective national development plans, mobilizing adequate financial resources, technology development and transfer and capacity building and ensuring effective follow-up and review will be critical.”
The international community and citizens around the world have waited for this moment with anticipation and great expectations, continued Mr. Kutesa. By adopting the draft resolution and transmitting the outcome document to the Summit for adoption of the post-2015 development agenda, “we will have taken an important step towards putting our world on a more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable path.”
“As we embark on this collective journey, we have to uphold the pledge that no one will be left behind.”

The Business Smart Answer to $15per Hr. Minimum Wage

McDonald’s Announces Its Answer to $15 an Hour Minimum Wage – Touch-Screen Cashiers

McDonalds Self-service kiosks will expand to at least 2,000 locations in 2015…

This is exactly what the left pushed for.  Fast food chains were never meant to be a place for someone to raise a family of 6. They were to be part time positions with some full-time advancements. Mostly the fast food restaurants were for school aged kids, to learn how to interact with people, with a job, to offer spending money, and to begin responsibility learning for their future. The part time position was not intended to pay for a house, it is a stepping stone to move on…
$15.00/hr x 8 hrs= $120/day x 5 days= $600/week x 52 weeks = $31,200/year!!
Of course when this happens, like it did today in Los Angeles , the poor and
unskilled workers will go on unemployment, then on Welfare, and cost American workers
more to support them.
McDonald’s recently came out with their answer to those that want $15/hr pay. Robots!
Many other food chains AND now RESTAURANTS alike are now switching over to kiosks/touchscreens to replace their cashiers, and servers too!
For the same reasons as McDonalds is making this move worldwide, these businesses
simply cannot afford to operate and pay your demanded minimum wage of $15 per hour
plus benefits to their workers/servers!
Got any other bright ideas Mr. Obama?
Directly from YOUR rhetoric and demands against Americas private businesses,
you and your minions just singlehandedly put 10’s of thousands of minimum
wage workers nationwide on the unemployment line!
In addition Mr. Obama, YOU have caused these minimum
wage jobs to be permanently eliminated and swept away
from Americas workplace FOREVER!

The outer limits

From left, Democratic presidential candidates Jim Webb, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Martin O'Malley and Lincoln Chafee on the debate stage on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, in Las Vegas. (Josh Haner/NYT/Pool via Zuma Press/TNS)“There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. …” — Weekly introduction to the 1963-1965 science fiction TV show “The Outer Limits”
Watching former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee, former Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley in the first Democratic presidential debate felt unworldly and scared me more than any sci-fi flick.
The setting was perfect: the Wynn casino in Las Vegas, a city where people often lose their sense of reality. What is so scary is that so many millions of Americans are betting their future on a Democrat to be president.
Most telling during the debate was how out of touch the candidates are with regard to political and economic realities. This was on display when each was asked what they consider to be the greatest threat to America.
Sanders responded:

The scientific community is telling us that if we do not address the global crisis of climate change, transform our energy system away from fossil fuel to sustainable energy, the planet that we’re going to be leaving our kids and our grandchildren may well not be habitable. That is a major crisis.

And his website states:

The United States must lead the world in tackling climate change, if we are to make certain that this planet is habitable for our children and grandchildren.

Although the 74-year-old Sanders is a junior senator, he is the consummate political insider, having won a congressional seat in 1991. Sanders admits he was a radical while at the University of Chicago, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science. None of this qualifies him as a scientist or an expert in global temperature trends. That doesn’t slow down Sanders, who declared: “This is a moral issue. … The future of the planet is at stake.”
O’Malley went so far as to say his first action if elected president would be to steer the country on a path toward 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. That is not possible.
Halfway into the debate, Clinton boasted of her role at the Copenhagen climate summit in 2009.
Mother Jones gave its opinion on Clinton and the Copenhagen summit:

After years of anticipation, the meeting of world leaders ended in disarray, with (President) Obama and his aides famously wandering around the convention center, looking for the leaders of China, India, Brazil, and other key nations. The toothless deal struck at the last minute was called a “grudging accord” by the New York Times the next day. Yes, Obama — and Clinton, then his secretary of state — were instrumental to that deal, but it’s hardly something Hillary should be proud of.

But environmentalists seldom distinguish between fact and fiction. Point in case is the call for American cars to run on ethanol, which burns cleanly but not cheaply. Not only would a major conversion to ethanol be extremely expensive, but it would also use up farmland. Foods across the board would become prohibitively expensive. Then there is this fact: It costs 1.5 gallons of oil to produce 1 gallon of ethanol.
The truth is that if Obama had been as adamant about global warming as the current Democratic contenders are, he would never have been considered for the presidency eight years ago. He has undergone a big change when you consider that Obama now believes in global warming. Last April, Obama said there is “no greater threat” than climate change. Yet just last year, the president’s advisers were saying that ISIS is the greatest threat ever to civilization.
ISIS (aka ISIL) was mentioned only five times during the Democratic debate. The candidates seemed to have more pressing issues to discuss. Clinton and Sanders focused on how all Americans will receive a free college education if they are elected. On the question of paying for illegal aliens getting a free college education, Clinton was vague but Sanders declared his full support. Not long ago, even progressive Democrats believed that the wave of illegal immigrants was a problem facing America. But if Sanders is elected president an illegal alien will get a free college education.
A decade ago, Democrats believed that a legitimate threat to America was the rising tide of Islam throughout the world and the longtime objective of bringing Sharia law to Europe and North America. With Muslim birth rates far higher than that of non-Muslims, Islam represents a serious threat. Of course, no general mention of Muslims was made or how tens of millions of Muslims support the growing number of radicals who rejoice at the execution of Christians.
Such talk is inconceivable to the Democratic contenders who want to lead a nation that is inclusive to all and sensitive to the needs of minority groups, particularly blacks, who have a disproportionate influence within the party.
In these politically correct times, Obama and his successor will put great effort not into the economy or overseas enemies but in paying for former sins of whites, especially white men. It’s all part of a mainstay of the Democratic Party: reverse discrimination, which is meant to atone for the sins of the father and all white forefathers.
Rather than recognizing true problems like the lethargy that has taken hold of the American economy, the Democrats focus on past and present black misfortunes; the black community is never, ever to be blamed. Democrats insist that we deserve white guilt while blacks are owed reparations.
I realized the extent of Democratic thinking when CNN took a question from a young black man who asked via satellite, “Do black lives matter, or do all lives matter?” During the discourse, Sanders said, “Black lives matter.”
O’Malley said: “(T)he point that the Black Lives Matter movement is making is a very, very legitimate and serious point, and that is that as a nation we have undervalued the lives of black lives, people of color.”
It was made clear by all the candidates that black lives do matter, a movement that has gained so much traction it has become a radical group not unlike the Black Panthers of the 1960s. You might have thought that at least one of the candidates would have pointed out that he or she was offended to be asked such an inane question. But each could hardly contain their affirmation of Black Lives Matter.
It was all sold on CNN, which covered the debate where anchors and progressive commentators discussed the debate’s merits ad nauseam. It’s the continuing mutation of a once-great news organization into the constant publicist for the Democratic Party and the election of a Democrat. And CNN may have the influence to do it. The science fiction of yesteryear has become all too real.
Remember, there is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. The network news channels are controlling transmission, and their goal is to control your thinking.
Yours in good times and bad,
–John Myers

Strong Cities Network: “The UN is coming and coming in the worst way possible for patriotic America!”

Forget the NGOs, the UN is coming!

Author

From the Canada Free Press

Patrick Wood over at Technocracy.com for suggesting that the Strong Cities Network (SCN) coming to a city near you soon is in no way connected to the United Nations:
“First, it should be noted that Strong Cities Network is NOT a government body at all, but rather a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with no connection to any government, or even the United Nations! (Technocracy.com Oct. 12, 2015)

“They simply state that an International Steering Committee of officials from 25 cities around the world will “determine the strategic direction and thematic priorities of the Strong Cities Network.”

There is nothing simple about a group with obvious ties to the United Nations that seeks to supplant local police with blue helmeted UN personnel on the streets of anarchy endangered cities.
No connection between the Strong Cities Network initiative and the U.N.?
How can that be when Attorney Loretta Lynch’s speech launching SCN as the body handed “total globalist control over the streets and cities of the United States”, was given right at UN Manhattan headquarters on Sept. 29, 2015?
Wood also leaves the general impression that members of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are not attached in any way to governments or the U.N.

NGOs are hatched,  nourished and paid for by One World Order-driven U.N., and have been ever since U.N. Poster Boy, Canadian Maurice Strong, laid the pathway for them.  NGOs hatched by the U.N. are reared to get out and do the U.N’s never ending bidding and move comfortably along to whatever is the next U.N. mission.

As many already know the Strong Cities Network is not the U.N’s first attempt to take over the Free West through the apathy-dogged civic/municipal level of government.  The devious U.N.  pushed its invasive Agenda 21—now Agenda 2030—through hundreds of towns and cities. at home and abroad.
We can see the clear and present danger of SCN in how the Wood-dubbed “top cop” Loretta Lynch described its vision when launching it at the U.N.:… “connecting those localities to one another – as the Strong Cities Network is doing – is not only a powerful way to lift up our communities worldwide.  It also sends a message about who we are and what we aspire to be – as an alliance of nations and as a global community.”

Kudos to Wood for going onto the SCN webpage to determine who their members are:

…”The Strong Cities Network About page clearly states “The Strong Cities Network is run by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a London-based ‘think-and-do’ tank with a long-standing track record of working to prevent violent extremism across all forms.” That is to say, the Strong Cities Network is a front group for the Institute of Strategic Dialogue.
“Who is the Institute for Strategic Dialogue? It is yet another NGO think-tank run by a fourteen-member Board of Trustees all of whom are directly connected to the global oligarchy. One member, Field Marshal The Lord Guthrie, is a member of the Trilateral Commission and a former Director of the global financial empire, N M Rothschild & Sons Limited. No less than ten other board members also have direct ties to the global financial world. The Board also contains two Baronesses and three Lords of the British monarchy.”

It is not two Baronesses and three Lords of the British monarchy breaking off from tea and crumpet time that we are fighting here, it is the United Nations at work with a mission to supplant local police with blue helmet personnel.

“One of ISD’s ideological positions should be of great concern to all Americans. A section of their web site details an initiative to fight against “Far-Right Extremism and Intolerance”, which states,
The blurred relationship between violence from the extreme right and broader trends of Islamophobia and anti-immigration sentiment poses several challenges for policy makers seeking to address the increasing risk of violent right-wing extremism…In 2012, ISD launched a new programme of work to enhance understanding of the threat from the far right, and help policy makers to develop effective responses to these violent and non-violent movements.“ [Emphasis added]

“In America, such “far-right” groups are already defined by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security as Tea Party groups, Oath Keepers, Constitutionalists, defenders of the 2nd Amendment and all who oppose Islam, the United Nations, Sustainable development, Agenda 21, Common Core Education Standards, etc., Wood correctly points out.
But it’s not the ISD out to save the world from the “extreme right”,  “broader trends of Islamophobia and anti-immigration sentiment” but the pervasive, well-funded United Nations.
In fairness, Wood did include constitutional lawyer/teacher KrisAnn Hall’s 14-minute compelling video in his column, and it is one that all lovers of Freedom and Liberty should watch.
Meanwhile, the latest batch of NGOs dispatched to help Barack Obama take down America are on the way.
Be a Paul and Paulette Revere and warn your neighbours: “The UN is coming and coming in the worst way possible for patriotic America!”

Jim Durkin Discusses Property Tax Relief Laws for Disabled Veterans

Illinois General Assembly

Burr Ridge, IL…House Republican Leader Jim Durkin told the Will County News recently about a couple of new state laws that will provide much-needed property tax relief to disabled veterans.

“Veterans who are severely injured in line of duty while serving our country deserve and need our help to stay in their homes,” said Durkin. “Recent changes to state law will ease the tax burden on a wide range of disabled veterans and their families. It is important we get the word out to the public about these changes so that veterans who qualify can apply for these benefits.”

This past spring, the Illinois General Assembly and the Governor expanded an existing state law in order to help more disabled veterans afford their property taxes. Beginning with tax year 2015 (billable in calendar year 2016) disabled veterans whose primary residence has an equalized assessed valuation of less than $250,000 may qualify for a slide-scale homestead exemption based on the following scales of service connected disabilities: (a) for veterans certified as having a service connected disability of 30% or more but less than 50%, $2,500; (b) for veterans certified as having a service connected disability of 50% or more but less than 70%, $5,000, (2) and for veterans certified as having a service connected disability of 70% or more, the property is exempted from property taxes.

The exemption is carried over for the lifetime of the veteran’s surviving spouse and to the spouse of a veteran killed in the line of duty. To apply for the exemption you are encouraged to contact your township assessor’s office http://www.willcountysoa.com/assessor-information.aspx .

Another new law would provide a 100 percent exemption to severely disabled veterans or their widowed spouses living in smaller homes with an assessed valuation of $100,000 or less. In addition to qualify, they must be severely-enough disabled to have established eligibility for and are enjoying the benefits of a home adopted for his or her special needs under the United States federal program of Section 2101 Specially Adapted Housing (Example: an adapted home with ramps that replaced steps). For more information, call the Will County Veteran Service Office at (815) 730-4334.

Additional information about other property tax relief programs is available at the Illinois Department of Veteran’s Affair webpage http://www.illinois.gov/veterans/benefits/Pages/real-estate.aspx .

Hillary Clinton Comes Out In Favor of Mandatory Gun Confiscation

Hillary Clinton Comes Out In Favor of Mandatory Gun Confiscation

facebook_event_1462704984037946

H/t to the Washington Free Beacon. Hillary Clinton today came out in favor of a gun confiscation program. She said a gun buy back program “would be worth considering on a national level” like Australia put in place.
There’s just one catch. Australia’s program was mandatory.  http://thefederalist.com/2015/06/25/the-australia-gun-control-fallacy/Citizens in Australia were given no choice but to hand over their weapons at a price point set by the state.
Hillary Clinton wants to do that in this country.
Again, every time the Democrats are called out on their solutions, they cite Australia as an example, but they never go into detail. They never do specific policy proposals. This is why and Hillary Clinton finally outted her proposal — confiscate guns in an Australia style mandatory gun buyback.
Never mind that it would be unconstitutional under current understanding of the Second Amendment. If she wins, she’d simply appoint people to the Supreme Court who disagree with the Heller decision and are prepared to throw it out. That decision solidified the second amendment as an individual right.
Get ready America. They really are willing to start openly talking about taking your guns.
By the way, Barack Obama has already mentioned Australia’s gun confiscation program four times: here, here, here, and here.

Governor Rauner signs law that provides disabled veterans with property tax breaks

Fricilone, Rauner, Balich September 16 2014

BY MIKE FITZGERALD

Gov. Bruce Rauner has signed into a law a bill that would provide property tax breaks to severely wounded military veterans, as well as a handful of other measures affecting veterans, including a proposal establishing a discount card.
Senate Bill 107 provides a multi-tiered set of exemptions from local property taxes for homeowners who have a service-connected injury, with a disability of at least 30 percent. Veterans with a disability of 30 to 49 percent, as certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, would receive a $2,500 annual exemption. Those with disabilities of between 50 to 69 percent would qualify for a $5,000 yearly exemption. And qualified homes of wounded veterans with a service-connected disability of at least 70 percent would be exempted from all property tax payments.
The law mandates that taxpayers granted an exemption under the new law must re-apply on an annual basis. The assessors or chief assessment officers for the Illinois counties where applicants live will determine the eligibility of residential property to receive the levels of tax relief implemented under the new law.
Disabled veterans already apply for tax relief through their county assessors’ office under an earlier state law, according to Jennifer Gomric-Minton, the St. Clair County assessor.
“We’re still looking into the procedures,” Gomric-Minton said.
Census figures show there are nearly 28,000 veterans with service-related disabilities in Illinois. In addition, nearly 14,000 property tax exemptions were awarded to veterans in 2013, according to the Illinois Department of Revenue.
Money to pay for the property tax breaks that SB 107 calls for will likely come in the form of a tax burden shift to other taxpayers, according to the Illinois Policy Institute, which neither supports nor opposes the measure.
Another provision of the law provides tax breaks to veterans who make accessibility upgrades to their homes, like wheelchair ramps. Such changes wouldn’t increase the assessed valuation of the property for at least seven years after improvements are made.
SB 107 sailed through the Illinois House and Senate without opposition. Both chambers voted unanimously for it before sending it to Rauner for his signature.
Rauner’s office released a statement Sunday saying six bills had been signed in honor of Veterans Day at the Illinois State Fair. including SB 107.

The Establishment Birthed Trump

Bellside 7
Much of the establishment’s criticism of Donald Trump comes from its failure to comprehend the reasons for his soaring popularity.  Establishment types seem untroubled by the problems facing America, so they can’t understand the urgency that fathered Trump’s rise.  Minor adjustments to the Hindenburg’s dining room menu just aren’t going to get it.  (Kind of like organizing the deck chairs on the Titanic after the iceberg strike?   Ed.)

Their overwrought analysis, their hand-wringing and their contemptuousness for Trump betray a disdain not only for Trump but for Americans who recognize the gravity of America’s predicament — and who, in desperation, have turned to Trump for bold action.

It’s hard to overstate Americans’ concern for the state of the nation.  Horrified by President Obama’s Sherman-esque march through America, they are tired of hearing that nothing can be done.  They are through with empty promises from establishment politicians.

People are tired of Obama’s pitting blacks against whites, women against men, gays against heterosexuals, rich against poor, non-taxpayers against taxpayers, citizens against cops and his Muslims against Christians.  They can no longer stomach Obama’s apologizing for America and excusing terrorists while rushing to attack Christians at every turn.

People are sick of being called racists for things that happened in this country before they were born or before they could vote, for opposing Obama’s destructive agenda, or for simply being Republicans.  They abhor the war on cops orchestrated by racial hucksters and pandering politicians.  They are incredulous that any president would deliberately engineer America’s decline and degrade our military.  They are tired of the nation’s chief executive officer’s flouting laws and thwarting the people’s will.

Americans are sick of Obama’s trashing America’s founding, assaulting capitalism, and bellowing about man-made global warming as a pretense to impose more liberty-smothering regulations.  They are nauseated by politicians who are more interested in bipartisanship with scofflaws than with saving the nation.

People are mortified by the nation’s fiscal instability, its unbridled national debt, its spiraling entitlements and Washington’s refusal to address them.  They are sick of the fraudulent spending “cuts.”  They have had their fill of the lies, especially about Obamacare, whose costs dwarf Obama’s promised projections and are getting worse by the day.  They’ve reached their limit with this administration’s rewarding unemployment and laziness while punishing work, it’s honoring socialism and demonizing capitalism.

People are sick of politically correct bullies.  They are exhausted by lectures about not paying their fair share when half the income earners don’t pay income taxes.  They are fed up with lies about decreasing unemployment rates when tens of millions have dropped out of the workforce.

Every other week, we face a new existential threat to the nation — threats perpetrated or enabled by Obama and the Washington establishment.  But the establishment meets these perils with barely disguised indifference.  Islamic terrorism is overrunning the Middle East and has reached our mainland, and Obama doesn’t dare whisper its name.  Obama refuses to enforce the borders; he orders his administration not to enforce immigration laws; he lawlessly grants amnesty to millions of immigrants who are here illegally; and he and his party set up sanctuary cities that harbor criminal immigrants.

Last year, we faced an invasion from Central America; now, in the name of compassion, we are inviting in Syrian refugees — some 72 percent of whom are, curiously, men.  Are we afraid to wonder aloud whether those who sidestep the legal immigration process will embrace the American idea?  Whether they will end up on the welfare rolls?  (Really…is there any legitimate question about this?  Ed.)

With Congress’ help, Obama bypassed the Constitution’s treaty clause and entered into a reckless, non-verifiable nuke deal with Iran and will give the Iranians a $150 billion signing bonus to fund terrorism and build ballistic missiles.

So where does that leave us?

People have heard one too many times that the Republican Party, if it regains control, will turn things around.  Republicans have been so timid in opposing Obama’s agenda that many have quit believing they’ll reverse this madness if they acquire full control.

Along comes Trump, who gives voice to these legitimate grievances instead of calling people racist, selfish or hysterical.  He emphasizes the urgency of these problems, and he denounces the status quo, the establishment, Washington inertia and political correctness without an ounce of apology.  People are dehydrated, and he’s their Gatorade®.

Whether Trump could or would deliver on his promises is one thing, but the establishment’s arrogant failure to acknowledge, let alone decry the horror of, the status quo is his lifeblood.  If Trump is a monster, the establishment is Dr. Frankenstein, so please spare us the lectures.

I happen to prefer other candidates, and certain things about Trump make me nervous; but I appreciate that he is shaking things up, and I refuse to belittle Trump’s supporters for believing he would be more effective than many of his establishment rivals.

Our forefathers’ precious gift of liberty to us is not self-sustaining, and if we don’t quit kicking it to the curb, it will leave us, never to return.
