Wreaths are not “bought’ through this program and cannot be taken from one Cemetery to another. Group ID: IL0013P
Wreaths Across America Ceremony will be held DEC. 12th 2015 AT 11am
General Information
Our goal & mission: To one day have a wreath for every Veterans grave at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, which is located at 20953 West Hoff Road. Elwood, IL. 60421
Dec 13th 2014 over: 6000 Wreaths were placed by volunteers.  Dec 12th 2015 there will be approximately 41,000 Veterans buried at ALNC. We are a long way from our goal.
The ceremony is held at 11am ( always 11am CST) on the 12th.  Wreaths are placed AFTER the ceremony.  The ceremony usually lasts about 20 minutes. It is all outside so be prepared for weather of all kinds.  The WAA Ceremony is held across the Country at hundreds of National & State Cemeteries on the same day & at the same time.
All ages are welcome to attend.  The Mission of WAA is to Remember, Honor & Teach.
ANYONE can sponsor a wreath to be placed on ANY Veterans grave.  We want to Honor all who have served. So please help! $15.00 to sponsor & WAA donate back $5. For every wreath that comes through us to Operation Care Package.
Wreaths can be sponsored year round. Anything that comes in to us later than Nov. 30th 2015 will go towards the next year’s wreaths.
We have a flag line.  Up to 150 American flags on 10 ft. poles are held by Veterans, Military & ROTC, and Fire & Police.  Want to join in holding a flag & pole?  Show up at 10am & see Tom.
Every year we hold a free luncheon awards.  Donations of food come from anyone wanting to donate a dish, buy items or help with paper plates, bottled water or coffee.  Anyone is welcome to make a dish or sponsor some of the above to keep this event free for everyone to enjoy. This is held at Stone City VFW Joliet.
The delivery of wreaths, ceremony, flag line, Color & Honor Guards, the fluffing of wreaths removal of boxes and everything else that happens this day and days before is
ALL VOLUNTEER.
We couldn’t do this without everyone’s help.  We hope that you’ll be able to help us reach our goal and make sure that at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery no hero is forgotten.
Please for grave specific I must have in early. Preferably no later than Nov. 21st 2015
