I don’t understand the logic of not stopping all immigration into the U.S. until we can have a plan that assimilates these people into our society. The way things work now we open the borders to everyone on an illegal basis and some the traditional legal way, and vetting is not done. Refugees seek a safe place, but when the costs for medical, housing, food, and expenses break the back of the taxpayer we have a problem. When an immigrant or refugee gets better benefits than a citizen we have a problem. Our jails are full of immigrant criminals, and Americans are stuck with the bill.riot in Fergunson
The Biggest problem is when terrorists  sneak in with the refugees. They want to kill us and have no intention of assimilating. They want us to supply them benefits. They are not thankful and see Americans as infidels to convert or kill. If they have allegiance to a belief, Country, or philosophy contrary to the U.S. They should not be allowed in. Letting them in is suicide.

Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas on  Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
In the first  place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good  faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be  treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to  discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or  origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet  an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided  allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else  also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the  American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the  English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is  a loyalty to the American people.’
