Sugar Grove, IL – Rep. Lauren Underwood’s vote for impeachment is a clear indication she has lost touch with her district, according to 14th District Congressional Candidate Jim Oberweis.

“Washington politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Lauren Underwood are doing nothing but playing politics,” Oberweis said. “We the People elect the President, not Pelosi and Underwood. Impeaching the President is nothing but partisan politics at its worst and it’s wrong. It has been nothing but a waste of time and a waste of our tax dollars.”

The US House of Representatives voted XX-XX to impeach President Donald Trump. There was bipartisan opposition to impeachment as XX joined the Republicans in voting “NO.” Only Democrats, including Rep. Lauren Underwood, voted for impeachment.

“This is a sad day in our country’s history,” Oberweis said. “We have an election next November. There is no need for the Democrats to do this. Congress is leaving Washington for the Christmas break without having addressed healthcare, prescription drug prices or a fix for our roads and failing bridges. Instead, Underwood and her fellow Democrats are engaging in the politics of personal destruction and wasting time and money.”
