By Steve Balich

Voters in Homer Township must come to the Annual Town Meeting April 14th at 7pm located at the Old Town Hall 160th and Cedar across the Street from the Fire Dept.

The following questions for the April 14th Homer Township Annual Town Meeting were given to the Board at the January meeting with more signatures than needed by Steve Balich. In February Ann Holtz submitted Questions with more than enough signatures.

The Board voted at the March Board meeting to remove all the questions except #1 from the Annual Town Meeting saying they are not relevant.

So the Board determines what is and is not relevant? The voters that signed the petitions thought the questions were relevant, but township officials disagreed and removed all of the Holtz Questions and 11 of the 12 Balich Questions.

Homer Township has always brought any question forward submitted by the voters going back at least to 1996 when I first got involved. There was even a question brought for a vote 3 years ago that all elected officials will vote for any Bill that advances the climate change agenda. The words not relevant never came up, and if it passed it would have been not binding.

The Township regime does not want to be accountable to the voters. The Cabal wants to build an event center which could cause an .05% increase in property tax at any time by a vote of the Board.

IN ADDITION the Homer Township Board can’t even take care of the property they currently are responsible for, like the tower on the football field.

This is clearly the Homer Township Board calling the voters to stupid to ask relevant questions at the April 14th Annual Town Meeting.

60 ILCS 1/30-50 Sec. 30 -50 States “The electors may make all orders for the purchase, sale, conveyance, regulation, or use of Townships’ corporate property.

Many of these questions deemed not relevant are binding. I would file a writ of Mandamus to take this to court but there is not enough time. Please come to the Annual Town Meeting April 14th and make your voice heard.
