Vote no to Homer Township property tax increase for a building we do not need

There is a Referendum Question on the Ballot asking that the people approve a new building for the Township. This Building would be direct competition to existing business trying to make ends meet during covid lockdowns. It will be unnecessary competition when the lockdowns ends. There are numerous places for events already in Homer Township. Worse of all according to IL. Statute there can be a property tax initiated at any time by just a vote of the Board.

We don’t need any more taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(60 ILCS 1/150-40)
    Sec. 150-40. Maintenance tax; referendum.
    (a) Any township that acquires community buildings by dedication, gift, purchase, or erection may levy annually a maintenance tax of not more than 0.05% of the value of all taxable property in the township, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue.

(c) If the board of managers desire to levy a maintenance tax at a rate in excess of 0.05% but not in excess of 0.10% of the value of all taxable property within the township as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, they shall order a referendum on that proposition at the next annual township meeting or at an election in accordance with the general election law.
