Pro-Woman, Not Pro-Abortion

Pro-Woman, Not Pro-Abortion
Written By John Stonestreet   |   01.27.17
In a recent Saturday Night Live sketch, a group of millennial women visit the historic home of suffragette Susan B. Anthony in Rochester, New York. Devout feminists one and all, they decide before leaving to invoke the ghost of Anthony by saying her name three times. Lo and behold, she appears, played by Kate McKinnon—bun, lace collar, and all.
Hilariously, the modern feminists find Anthony quite boring. She drones on about women’s rights and dignity, while they check their smart phones and argue about dinner. Until finally she says something that wakes them all up: “Abortion is murder!”
Doubtless many modern feminists were taken aback by this Saturday Night slip-up, given the show’s liberal leanings. But as Serrin Foster of Feminists for Life told National Review, all of the “feminist foremothers…without known exception, spoke out against abortion.”
That’s right. The suffragettes—Susan B. Anthony in particular—were fiercely pro-life, calling abortion a “crime against humanity,” “feticide,” and “child murder.” In fact, one of the primary organizations backing pro-life candidates today—the Susan B. Anthony list—does so in her name.
Given how close the unborn were to the hearts of the earliest women’s rights crusaders, it’s troubling to see how unwelcome pro-life women are on the modern feminist stage. We saw this discrimination vividly last week during the nationwide Women’s March.
Muffled but not quite absent were the voices of pro-life women. Several prominent pro-life organizations that applied as partners of the women’s march were either dis-invited or ignored, though several showed up anyway. Even the New York Times, in a surprising and praiseworthy piece, documented the virtual blackout of pro-life messages at the demonstration.
After booting a Texas anti-abortion group, Women’s March co-chairwoman, Linda Sarsour, told the Times, “If you want to come to the march you are coming with the understanding that you respect a woman’s right to choose.”
In other words, pro-lifers not welcome!
“This is what we conservative women live with all the time,” said Charmaine Yoest, senior fellow at American Values: “This idea that somehow we aren’t really women and we just reflect internalized misogyny.”
The Women’s March was, Yoest concluded, a “wholly owned subsidiary of the abortion movement.” And were it not for the unexpected coverage by the Grey Lady, these organizers may have succeeded in drowning out the pro-life message.
But as Bob Dylan sang, the times, they’re a changin’. Just this month, the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute reported that abortions in the United States have fallen to their lowest rate since Roe v. Wade. (Read more here.)
A lot has contributed to this decline, from pro-life legislation and ultrasound availability, to widespread contraception use and the acceptance of unwed motherhood. So the news isn’t all good. But when you consider the growing movement of young people who see the rights of the unborn as a social justice issue, the tired assumption that feminism equals abortion support really begins to falter.
Even pop culture and late night TV are straying from the pro-abortion script. And as Kathryn Jean Lopez wrote in National Review, this may be our chance to reintroduce an older, better women’s movement—one that didn’t pit the rights of mothers against the lives of their unborn children.

Planned Parenthood facilities

Will This Be the Final Nail in Planned Parenthood’s Coffin?
Will This Be the Final Nail in Planned Parenthood’s Coffin?
Written By Laurie Higgins   |   01.25.17

lauries-chinwags_thumbnailThe national pro-life organization Live Action has just released a bombshell video that darn well better be the final nail in the coffin of Planned Parenthood—a coffin brimming with baby corpses.
Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, in a futile effort to persuade the public that the pro-death organization she heads is all about women’s “health,” has publicly stated that Planned Parenthood provides prenatal care. In so doing, she clearly suggested and the gullible public believed that all Planned Parenthood facilities provide prenatal care. Surprisingly, that’s not what Live Action found in its undercover investigation.
Of the 97 Planned Parenthood facilities Live Action contacted, only 5 provided prenatal care. Live Action’s short video provides persuasive evidence that Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards lied through her pearly whites.
Here’s a sampling of the responses featured in Live Action’s video:

Tempe, AZ: “Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don’t offer prenatal care.”
Albany, NY: “No Planned Parenthood does prenatal care, hon.”
Farmington, NM:“We don’t offer prenatal care at Planned Parenthood…We specialize in abortions. You know that’s what our ultrasounds are for, to see how far along the, um, patient is.”
Elizabeth, NJ: “We do birth control, things like that—terminations.
Cornell, NY: “We tell you you’re pregnant, and then we offer…to do the abortions.”
Merrillville, IN: “No, we don’t do prenatal services. I mean it’s called Planned Parenthood. I know it’s kind of deceiving.
Dallas, TX: “We only offer termination services.”

Ironically when the undercover patient asked where she could receive prenatal care, the Planned Parenthood operative recommended Care Net, the type of crisis pregnancy center that “progressives” accuse of not caring about women and babies.
Racist eugenicist Margaret Sanger was the founder of Planned Parenthood, and today’s money-sucking  organization bears the morally corrupt values of its founder. While blacks comprise 12 percent of the population, they comprise 28 percent of abortions, a statistic that would please Sanger who was hell-bent on ridding the world of blacks:
We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities.  The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.
In Sanger’s proposed “baby code” she recommended the extermination of those deemed unfit:

[F]eeble-minded persons…those afflicted with inheritable disease, and others found biologically unfit by authorities…should be sterilized or, in cases of doubt, should be so isolated as to prevent the perpetuation of their afflictions by breeding.”

Which populations do “progressives” today exploit to promote abortion as an act of compassion? Don’t death merchants talk about feticide as a compassionate act for babies with tragic physical anomalies? Aren’t children with Down Syndrome—in earlier, less enlightened times referred to a “feeble-minded”—being aborted in numbers that should offend and outrage all decent people?
Cecile Richards is an attractive corporate mask that conceals incomprehensibly evil acts, and where there is evil, there is deception.

Let Madonna, Judd, and Cyrus Fund Planned Parenthood

Let Madonna, Judd, and Cyrus Fund Planned Parenthood

19:00 minutes into this Video

lauries-chinwags_thumbnailLet’s see, Planned Parenthood provides age-inappropriate, Leftist dogma packaged as sex “education” to children and kills incipient human life in the womb. Moreover, no Planned Parenthood performs mammograms, and very, very few offer prenatal care. And yet Planned Parenthood is an essential provider of women’s healthcare?
Curiouser and curiouser.
In 2013, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood (PP), was paid $590,928. In regard to her 2013 income, U.S. News and World Report said “Richards makes about $100,000 more than the typical CEO for a nonprofit similar to the size of Planned Parenthood.” Here’s the kicker, in 2014 Richards was paid $957,952. PP vice president Dawn Laguens pocketed $599, 721 of blood money.
It’s time for the federal government to cease funding Planned Parenthood until such time as they  stop killing humans in the womb; stop providing contraception and abortifacients; and stop peddling a Leftist sexuality ideology to minors.
If Planned Parenthood wants to provide those products and services to minors and women of childbearing age, they should ask George Soros, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, and Ashley Judd to subsidize them.
Taxpayers should not be forced to do so.

Video: Anti-Trump Feminists Chant “Allahu Akbar” During Protest in Germany

Apparently, honor killings, stoning women to death & FGM are now compatible with womens’ rights

Paul Joseph Watson | Infowars.com – January 24, 2017
http://www.infowars.com/video-anti-trump-feminsts-chant-allahu-akbar-during-protest-in-germany/

Disturbing video footage shows self-proclaimed “feminists” chanting “Allahu Akbar” during an anti-Trump protest in Berlin, Germany.

The clip shows demonstrators yelling “pussy grabs back” as they carry signs that say “love trumps hate”.

The footage then cuts to a protest leader with a megaphone who rhythmically chants “Allahu Akbar” underneath a sign that reads “end white supremacy”. One of the “feminists” in the crowd appears emotional during the chant before smiling.

“Allahu Akbar” means “God is great” or “Allah is greater” in Arabic, but it’s better known in the west as a slogan routinely shouted by jihadists as they massacre innocent people during terrorist attacks.

The video then shows another protester carrying a sign that reads “Trump homophobia,” presumably unaware of the fact that gay people are still executed in Islamic countries.

To be clear, these feminists are championing the most patriarchal, misogynistic and anti-gay belief system on the planet – Islam.

A belief system that treats women as second class citizens and a belief system whose adherents engage in female genital mutilation, forced marriages and honor killings. It’s a belief system that justifies parents throwing acid in the face of their daughter if she so much as looks at a boy.

Islam is a belief system that worships a prophet – Mohammad – who kept innumerable female sex slaves and who raped a 9-year-old girl.

Since Germany imported millions of young men who embrace this belief system, rapes and sexual assaults of women have skyrocketed.

What on earth has any of this got to do with feminism or womens’ rights?

This would be hilarious if it wasn’t so downright disturbing. The deranged left is openly making an alliance with Islamists.

ISIS now writes in its own manifesto about a plan to recruit far-left activists in the west because the two groups broadly share the same goal – the downfall of western civilization.

It makes sense therefore that anti-Trump Antifa rioters displayed ISIS flags and beheading videos during this past weekend’s unrest in DC in an effort to intimidate Trump supporters.

It makes sense that one of the organizers of the “Women’s March” in DC was none other than Linda Sansour, a Muslim activist who advocates for Sharia law – a brutal Islamist doctrine that completely disenfranchises women – and a woman with ties to Hamas.

Sansour is pictured above giving the one finger up ISIS salute.

The artist Shepard Fairey also designed a poster for the anti-Trump protests that shows a woman wearing an American flag hijab.

Demonstrators at the “women’s march” also wore hijabs, presumably unaware of the fact that for women in the Middle East it is a symbol of oppression. Women who fail to wear a hijab in Muslim countries or even in the west put themselves at risk of being beaten or raped (because Islam is so friendly towards women).

Illinois held hostage to a Grand Bargain

Illinois held hostage to a Grand Bargain
By Jeanne Ives 1/29/2016
No one should be surprised that group think instead of rational choices surround the 13 interconnected bills of the “Grand Bargain.” It is wholly predictable given the longevity of the Senate leaders involved. They’ve been working together for nearly 2 decades. They put in place many of the policies that are now taking a toll on our state. They are the beneficiaries of generous pensions when they retire, excessive pay for their part-time jobs, and the public attention and stature of the positions they hold.  What’s new now is the heat is on. Calls to “DO SOMETHING!” echo throughout the state. But after decades of living in the Springfield bubble, Senate leaders have forgotten the common Illinoisan in the “Grand Bargain.”
In doing so, they misread entirely the mood of the people and depth of our troubles. Understand, Illinois is not a middle of the pack state. We are an outlier. We rank at or near the bottom in nearly every financial category, which is what matters to taxpayers and businesses that fund government. Moody’s and others in the financial world are now describing our state’s situation as a “death spiral.”  We need revolutionary reform, not a bargain with the hostage takers.
Instead, Senate leaders John Cullerton and Christine Radogno propose marginal ineffective pension reform when the choice should be reform that moves new hires into 401(K) style retirement accounts which the vast majority of taxpayers have.
They propose worker compensation reform that neglects the Causation Standard, which is the biggest reform that is needed.
They propose massive gambling expansion – 6 new casinos – knowing the original gaming bill never met its goal to fund education and that market saturation would ensue.
They propose some procurement reform when the biggest cost to government is labor that is controlled by union collective bargaining agreements that need limits put in place.
They propose consolidation of local government that affects less than 5 percent of your property tax bill, while ignoring school consolidation which is over 70 percent of your bill.
They propose a massive income tax increase and an ever shifting list of new taxes without publically defining any cuts in spending.
And after these proposals, they went to the editorial boards to sell the ideas because they knew if they brought it directly to the people they would be laughed at.
They are out of touch with taxpayers in Illinois. They operate in an environment controlled by lobbyists, crony capitalists, public sector unions, and weak kneed legislators focused almost exclusively on their next election.
Truly, the inmates are running the asylum. Illinoisans needs independent-minded leaders who know what life is like for families and businesses outside the Capitol Building.
There are better ways and better ideas and my colleagues and I will be proposing them in the coming weeks.

Republicans place women in two top party positions, Democrats get racist

Republicans place women in two top party positions, Democrats get racist

red boxing gloves on flagDemocratic attempts to portray the Republican Party as sexist lost even more credibility on Tuesday, as newly elected Republican National Committee chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel announced the hiring of Sara Armstrong as her chief of staff.
“Sara Armstrong’s many years of experience working at the RNC and her deep relationships with Republicans everywhere make her a superb choice to help lead the RNC,” McDaniel in a statement. “The RNC is completely focused on assisting President Trump and our Republican majorities in Congress deliver the change the American people voted for, and Sara has already proven herself a dedicated supporter of that cause.”
With two of the RNC’s top leadership posts now filled by women, Democrats may have to come up with another ridiculous line of attack against conservative values. And the party already seems poised to pivot on the myth that the GOP is a racist organization.
The DNC is expected to elect its chairman next month. At a recent forum for candidates vying for the petition, anti-white rhetoric was prevalent.
DNC chair candidate Sally Boynton Brown, currently head of the Idaho Democratic Party, said her goal was to shut white voices up to embolden U.S. minorities.
“My job is to listen and be a voice and shut other white people down when they want to interrupt,” she said.
The DNC candidate later added that the party needs to actively train members to place race above all else, saying: “We pull people in and they are volunteers. They don’t know anything and then we send them out to have conversations with people, hard conversations. We promote them to chair of a party where they have power and they have no clue what they are doing. We have to, at the DNC, provide training. We have to teach them how to communicate, how to be sensitive and how to shut their mouths if they are white. So I think I made my point.”
If she’s looking for advice, perhaps she ought to talk to “Big Joe,” who’s currently getting love all over the internet for shutting up idiots protesting in the street…

How to defeat the globalist system

How to defeat the globalist system

In my last two articles, How globalists predict your behavior and How to predict the behavior of globalists, I explained the base fundamentals behind a concept with which most people are unfamiliar. They are so unfamiliar with it, in fact, that I didn’t bother to name it. In this article I hope to explain it, but I highly recommend people read the previous articles in this series before moving forward.
What I outlined, essentially, was a beginners course on 4thGeneration Warfare. This methodology is difficult to summarize, but here I will list what I believe are some of its core tenets.
Fourth Gen warfare is based on a primary lesson within Sun Tzu’s The Art Of War. Sun Tzu argues in the classical military tome that the greatest strategists win wars by not fighting. That is to say, they win by convincing their opponent that fighting back is futile and that surrender is preferable, or, they convince their opponents to destroy themselves through internal conflict and psychological sabotage. Sun Tzu felt this method was far superior to engaging in direct combat in a real world battle space.
While this might sound bizarre to some, it is becoming more and more apparent (in my view) that 4th Gen warfare is now the go to weapon for globalists. Defeating the system established by the globalists, a system prevalent for decades, is an impossible task unless 4th Gen warfare is understood.
For example, a tried and true form of 4th Gen attack is to initiate a civil war within a target population, and in most cases, control the leadership on both sides of that conflict. Another method is to conjure and enemy, an outside threat which may be legitimate or entirely fabricated, and use that enemy to push a target population to unify under a particular banner that benefits the globalist cabal in the long run. Fourth Gen requires patience above all else. In fact, I would say 4th Gen is the weaponization of patience.
A 4th Gen attack is not carried out over days, or months, but years. To find a comparable experience is difficult, but I would suggest people who have the tenacity set out to learn how military snipers operate. Can you train for years mastering long distance marksmanship, crawl for hours from an insertion point to an observation point, then sit in a hole in the ground (if you are lucky enough to have a hole in the ground) for days waiting to take just one shot, perhaps the only important shot you will ever take in combat, at a vital target, and do it knowing that you will not miss?
The amount of planning, intense precision and foresight that goes into a sniper operation is much like the kind of effort and calm needed to complete a 4th Gen psy-ops mission. This kind of warfare is dominated by the “think tanks”, and I would suggest anyone hoping to counter such tactics look into the history of one particular think tank — RAND Corporation, and their premier psy-ops tool — rational choice theory.
Whenever I hear someone argue that a conspiracy of globalists could not exist because “such plans would be too elaborate and require too much power to carry out in real life,” I have to laugh and bring up RAND, which has almost limitless funding from globalist foundations like the Ford Foundation and was built specifically to develop not only next gen weapons, but 4th Gen psychological warfare schemes. RAND is everywhere, from politics, to the social sciences, to military applications and even in Hollywood. After studying their efforts for many years now I can say that these people are smart. Some of them may not be aware of the greater consequences as they war game ideas for dominating the public, and some of them are undoubtedly devious and morally bankrupt, but they are still smart.
Another reference point I would suggest to researchers would be a document called From Psyop To Mindwar: The Psychology Of Victory written by Michael Aquino and Paul Vallely for the Pentagon. In it, they make it clear that the methods of 4th Generation warfare are not limited to foreign enemies. In fact, they are recommended for use by governments against their own populations. Again, the thrust of the methodology was to manipulate a target population into subduing itself, so that force was not necessary. Aquino and Vallely note that this would be a better outcome for everyone involved, because it would help to avoid the bloodshed of insurgency and counterinsurgency.
I am skeptical that these people care at all about bloodshed or collateral damage, but I do think they would very much like the process of totalitarian centralization to be less tedious. The elites hope to streamline tyranny by convincing the public that globalization must be embraced for “the greater good of the greater number.” But, in order to accomplish this vast change in society and the collective unconscious, they need crisis and calamity. They see themselves as creators, but for them, creation is about destruction. In other words, the old world must be destroyed so that they can use the building blocks to make something new.
If we do not embrace their solution of global centralization rising from the ashes, they believe they have a response for that problem too. Read my article When Elites Wage War On America, This Is How They Will Do It; more specifically, the section on Max Boot from the Council On Foreign Relations. Boot is the CFR’s resident “insurgency expert,” and while I question his ability to apply academic models to real word conflicts as if theory is akin to practice in war, it is enough to know the mindset of these elitists.
Boot’s work focuses on a particular model of quarantining insurgencies from the non-combative population, based on the methods the British used against communist guerrillas in Malaysia. In fact, Max seems to revel in the British efforts to catalog Malaysian citizens and relocate them into large cities that amounted to concentration camps. This made recruitment difficult for the insurgents and stopped them from hiding among civilian centers. It also focused food production into highly managed areas and gave the British leverage over the population. With this separation, it was much easier for the authorities to “educate” the locals on the threats of the insurgency and gain their support.
So, the question is, if this array of tactics is being aimed at liberty proponents and free peoples within the U.S. in particular, with an increasing potential for things to become far worse in the near term, how do we fight back?
Firstly, I need to point out a disturbing trend within the liberty movement, which is the propensity for activists to show far more interest talking about the problem than talking about solutions. Over the years I have noticed a consistent lower readership on articles having to do with specific solutions and strategies; not just my own articles, but many other analysts as well. It is much more popular to write on the reality of looming crisis rather than to write about what individuals can do to blunt the edge of the event. I would not be surprised if this article receives only half of the readership my other articles receive.
The first step in fighting back in a 4th Gen war is to acknowledge that there is no easy way out. The is no way to change the corrupt system from within. There is no way to use politics and government to our advantage. Trump is not going to save you, or America. The Republican controlled House and Senate is not going to save us. There is nothing they could do even if they wanted to.
Shutting down the Fed alone is a half measure that will actually exacerbate a crisis in the short term. A debt jubilee is meaningless when the value of your world reserve currency on the global market is still destroyed in the process and your treasury bonds are no longer desirable.  Pushing corporations to create a few thousand jobs here and there is a drop in the bucket when considering the 95 million people no longer counted in the U.S. labor force on top of the millions still officially considered unemployed. There is no stopping the ongoing economic collapse.
Here is what can be done, though, to mitigate the damage and fight back against the establishment…

Separation from the system

People are always looking for grand and cinematic solutions to fighting the globalists, but the real solutions are far less romantic. Defeating the “new world order” requires individuals to take smaller actions in their day-to-day lives. Becoming more self sufficient, the ability to provide one’s own necessities, the ability to defend one’s self and family, the move away from grid dependence, homeschooling your children, a healthy skepticism of web tied technologies and the “internet of things,” etc.
This does not mean you have to go build a cabin in the woods and start typing up your manifesto, but it does mean that you will have to sacrifice certain modern comforts and amenities and manage your life in a way that feels strange at first. To put it simply, it means you will have to learn to start doing most things for yourself and perhaps learn to live with less “things” and less mainstream stimulation.
I know many people that have undertaken this effort while still living what you might call “normal lives.” The bottom line is, if you are dependent on the system, you will never be able to fight the system.

Separation from invasive technologies

Remove active surveillance from your life. Stop carrying a cell phone around with you everywhere you go, or at least pull the battery until you need it. Cover or remove computer cameras. Deactivate microphones when not in use. Refuse to purchase appliances with built-in web connectivity. Refuse to participate in smart grid programs. Remove GPS modules from your vehicles. Stop posting photos constantly to Facebook. Give the enemy less information to work with.

Build real community

Stop trying to build hollow friendships with people on the other side of the country through a cold medium like the internet and start building relationships with the people that live right in your own neighborhood or town. The one thing the elites fear more than anything else is people organizing groups that are outside of their influence. The more community groups there are big and small, the more effort, money and resources are required to keep tabs on them all. With localized groups populated by members that know each other and have lived in one place for a long time, infiltration is a strenuous prospect and co-option is nearly impossible.

Establish alternative communications

Make sure your group or community has at least one ham radio expert. Resistance to tyranny requires independent communications. Without it you will have no access to information in the event of a crisis and thus, you will have nothing. Ham radio can be used to spread information across the country and can even reach out to other parts of the world. In the event of a breakdown in civility, ham can be used to send digital mail and files, and these files can be encrypted.
The founding fathers had the midnight ride, we have ham radio.

Refuse to participate in resource management

In the event of a greater collapse, resource management will be the name of the game. For the elites to gain a stranglehold on a population, they need to isolate the insurgency from the regular citizenry, and then they need to confiscate as many resources as possible to supply “loyalists” while starving out undesirables.
I believe a successful rebellion would require rural communities to maintain complete control over their resources and refuse to allow government to dictate how these resources are dispersed. Ultimately, in order to break an establishment stranglehold over the population through Max Boot’s method of “friendly” concentration camps, the tactic would have to be reversed. Resources may need to be cut off to these places entirely. This would remove the leverage governments would have in terms of necessities, leaving no reason for anyone to want to stay in these sorts of green zones again.

Vigilante justice

I am not condoning or criticizing this kind of development, but I am pointing out its inevitability. If top globalists continue to engage in economics as a nuclear option, along with many other crimes, then individuals with the right skill-sets will likely seek them out with the intention of ventilating them. I think the idea of lone-wolf vigilantes acting without group influence and without warning is terrifying to the globalists.
They are used to being able to co-opt enemy groups or using informants to infiltrate and relay information. With a lone wolf, there is no trail to follow and individuals are decidedly harder to predict in their behavior and plans than groups are. I would not be surprised to see prominent globalists living in the U.S. suddenly leave the country en masse just as social unrest becomes heightened.

Our window of time is short

Keep in mind that the millennial generation is about 10 years away from becoming the dominant cultural force in this country, and those precious snowflakes are like another species. The majority of them long for collectivism, and they work diligently to stifle dissent in colleges and public schools. The great danger is that in ten to fifteen years conservative movements might be too old to effectively fight back, and while we deal with economic disaster it will be millennials steeped in cultural Marxism that are elevated as part of the globalist solution.
Whatever we end up doing, I believe we have about 10 years from now before hitting the point of no return. Then, we will either have the globalists in prison or in the ground, or, we will have a massive economic reset and a new world order. The choice is up to us, even though some people don’t want to admit it.

A “Trumpian” Approach to Balancing the Budget

A “Trumpian” Approach to Balancing the Budget

The following is adapted from my January 17th speech at the Heritage Foundation, which can be viewed in full here.
As a candidate, Donald Trump repeatedly stated that balancing the budget would be a goal of his administration.
http://www.gingrichproductions.com/2017/01/understanding-trump-and-trumpism-part-3-a-trumpian-balanced-budget/?utm_source=Gingrich+Productions+List&utm_campaign=f9d3da0282-trumpianbudget_2017_01_18&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_bd29bdc370-f9d3da0282-47253965
Trumpian Balanced Budget
Many so-called experts have dismissed the idea that he can actually achieve this goal as president.
As usual, the experts have it wrong.
In fact, President Trump’s focus on the fundamentals of the economy and the government will shrink the deficit and balance the budget.
To use a sports analogy, Bill Walsh, the former head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, never focused on the score of the game. His focus was always on getting his players to perfectly execute their plays. If every play was perfectly executed, he believed the score would reflect the team’s actions.
This same principle holds true for balancing the budget. If Trump’s policies are implemented, the result will be a balanced federal budget.
I say this with some authority. As Speaker of the House, we achieved four consecutive balanced budgets. In the four years before I became Speaker, the combined deficit was more than a trillion dollars! Starting in fiscal 1998, we achieved a surplus of $559 billion.
How did we balance the federal budget?
We balanced the budget by focusing on the fundamentals of the economy and the government.
We cut capital gains. Our capital gains tax cut was very successful, and people responded positively to it. This was key to accelerating investment and to expanding small businesses – leading to more tax revenue.
We reformed welfare. Welfare reform not only put millions of people back to work, it also led to the largest decline in child poverty in American history.
We also enacted major reforms to communications regulations which played a role in the explosion of the telecommunications industries, including mobile phone technology and e-commerce.
All of this strengthened the dollar and resulted in lower interest rates.
The combined impact of these and other policy changes led to reduced spending and more federal revenue. That is how we balanced the budget when I was Speaker, and this is how President Trump, working with Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell can do it again.
Here is what a “Trumpian” approach to balancing the budget would look like.

  • According to Jim Frogue in his book, Stop Paying the Crooks, if President-elect Trump’s team brought in American Express, Visa, and MasterCard to replace the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) payment bureaucracy, the government could save $1 trillion in fraud over a decade.
  • Applying this same principle to food stamps and disabilities, the government could save another $50 billion a year. If we apply this to the VA and TRICARE, the changes could be immense.
  • We must insist on health information technology interoperability to save lives and reduce costs.
  • We must create a public-private partnership for reaching Mars and the moon – we have to get into space faster for less. This will work if we redesign NASA and create public-private partnerships with entrepreneurs eager to make these exciting achievements happen.
  • We must liberate federal lands for energy, mineral, and other development reflecting the original sense of America as a land of opportunity. We must protect our national parks and truly sensitive environments, but also recognize, for example, that the federal government owning 82% of Nevada deprives Americans of opportunities. These policy changes would generate more than $200 billion a year, or over a trillion a decade.
  • Finally, we must bring American money back home. A five percent, one-time repatriation for the $2 trillion in profits locked up overseas could yield $100 billion in revenue and a substantial increase in investment in the U.S. The revenue from this growth would move us toward a balanced budget and create more jobs.

These are just a few examples. On almost every front, the current policies and bureaucracies are so inefficient and out of touch with 21st century capabilities that the potential is enormous for a less expensive federal government leading to a dramatically bigger American economy with far higher incomes.
This is the path to a Trumpian balanced budget. It will be a consequence of the right policies to spur economic growth and make our government operate more efficiently and effectively.
I will continue my‘Understanding Trump and Trumpism’ series this Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 8am ET. The speech will be streamed live on Facebook and transcript and video will be made available at Gingrich Productions and The Heritage Foundation following the presentation.

Young School accepts Zoo Crew challenge
To lead healthy lives while raising money for American Heart Association

Young School students are eager to become a “heart hero” and are raising money to fight heart disease.

On Jan. 26, the school launched its annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign, encouraging students to live a healthy lifestyle and raise money for the American Heart Association.

“We are so excited to teach students how to care for their heart while raising lifesaving donations to fight the nation’s #1 killer,” said Young School P.E. teachers Wendy Bruin and Jeff Jonaitis.

To get students started, a  representative from the American Heart Association stopped by the school to talk to students about the work they do and why it’s important to eat healthy and exercise.

She was joined by the American Heart Association’s Zoo Crew — a group of loveable characters who encouraged students to eat more fruits and vegetables, choose water over sugary drinks and never smoke.

Students who went online and collected $150 using their online fundraising page went home with Gabby, one of the Zoo Crew members.

“Spread the word about heart health,” Stefani White from the American Heart Association told students. “By doing Jump Rope for Heart, you are helping other people…. You are helping find a solution for heart disease.”

Jerry Brown Signs Bill That Could Let Illegal Aliens Vote

Jerry Brown Signs Bill That Could Let Illegal Aliens Vote

On Saturday, California Governor Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill 1461, the New Motor Voter Act, which will automatically register people to vote through the DMV, and could result in illegal aliens voting.

Any person who renewed or secured a driver’s license through the DMV may now register to vote, or choose to opt out of doing so. Because illegal immigrants are now eligible for obtaining driver’s licenses, they could be allowed to vote in elections if the Secretary of State’s office fails to verify their eligibility properly.
Brown and the California Democratic party know exactly what they are doing; as a Public Policy Institute survey showed, among unregistered adults, 49% lean toward the Democratic Party and 22% toward the Republican Party. Any bill permitting illegal immigrants to vote would cement the Democratic Party’s hold on California.
True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht stated, “This bill is terrible. It makes an already bad situation much, much worse,” adding that California’s registration databases “lack the necessary safeguards to keep noncitizens off the voter rolls.”

Election Integrity Project of California President Linda Paine echoed that AB 1461 “will effectively change the form of governance in California from a Republic whose elected officials are determined by United States citizens and will guarantee that noncitizens will participate in all California elections going forward.” The Election Integrity Project of California had joined True the Vote to demand that brown veto the bill, calling it a path to “‘state sanctioned’ voter fraud.”
Although noncitizens’ driver’s licenses in California feature the phrases “Federal Limits Apply” and “not valid for official federal purposes,” True the Vote spokesman Logan Churchwell pointed out that state officials “specifically chose not to make noncitizen license holders searchable in their DMV database.”
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla countered that the increase in voters will benefit the state, arguing, “The New Motor Voter Act will make our democracy stronger by removing a key barrier to voting for millions of California citizens. Citizens should not be required to opt in to their fundamental right to vote. We do not have to opt in to other rights, such as free speech or due process.”
California follows Oregon, where Democratic Gov. Kate Brown signed a bill in March allowing the automatic registration of all eligible Oregonians to vote when they obtain or renew a driver’s license or state identification card.
But Stephen Frank of California Political Review bluntly asserted that the bill will reduce voter turnout because voters will sniff fraud in the polls: “AB 1461 assures corruption of our elections–our elections will look like those of Mexico and other corrupt nations–and honest people will stop voting since illegal aliens will out vote them.”
